Yes, you read that right. Austrailia Opal. That was her name at the shelter. Poor thing. We decided it was a little difficult to pronouce, so we changed it to Gracie. Rolls off the tongue a little easier.
Needless to say (unless you don't know what a Great Pyrenees is) that she will be a BIG girl. Her paws are the same size as our other dog.
Right now, she is 3 months old, 20 pounds, and so precious. She is quite opposite of when Sammy was her age. But she is a sweet girl, and we are excited to see her grow!
1:00pm Car ride home from the Humane Society. Poor little Gracie is not too fond of the car. But we made it.
1:30pm Introduction to Betty, the cat. Gracie was so calm. Betty still hisses at her. (I keep trying to tell Betty that Gracie is nice...I will keep working on it)
1:50pm Gracie finally uses her voice and barks back at Sammy! Sammy is impressed. Gracie plays back a little more now.
2:30pm Gracie pees in the living room. Lovely. Here it comes.
3:00pm Gracie pees in the living room. In the same spot. But she is so stinkin cute! How can I be mad?
3:30pm Gracie pees in the living room. I think she drank way to much water today.
4:30pm Gracie jumps into the pond outside! No fear! Not good....
4:35pm Gracie gets her first bath. She needed one anyway. This forced us into action.
5:30pm Mommy and Daddy are trying to figure out how to keep each dog from eating the other dog's food. This will be tricky. I can't wait until they eat the same type of food.
7:00pm Gracie and Sammy are sound asleep, due to the exciting afternoon.
10:00pm Gracie and Sammy decide it is time to go to bed...so they start wrestling and playing around.
10:30pm The kids are nestled, all snug on their beds, while visions of squirrels are dancing in their heads. And Mama and Daddy all ready to sleep.....when all of a sudden, the alarm starts to beep...
3:00am BEEEEEEP.....alarm went off. Time to take the little runt out to the yard to have her middle-of-the-night pee. (we decided to be proactive on this) It worked!! She peed a bladder-full and we happily praised her and went back to bed again.
7:00am Time to get up. A succesful night of sleep (kinda).
Good job Gracie. Welcome to the family. Good job Sammy. You will be a good big sister. Good job Betty, you stay up high on your lookout. haha
She is a big pup.... Such a cute blog, Bek...
